In Japan bonsai often in our home showed in Tokoname, called huisnis. The bonsai is then put on a suitable substrate. This can be a slab of wood or stone, but usually this is an often customized table.
This table supports the presentation of bonsai.
The table must fit the bonsai. The dimensions but also contribute to the appearance of the table and be supportive to the beauty of the bonsai.
A heavy tree on a fragile table is therefore undesirable. Tables come in many shapes and sizes. Often these tables are made of expensive refined woods. Old antique tables have preferred here but are often very expensive.
An exception to the single table is shohin - rack. This is a composite table on which you several small trees, up to 28 cm high, can continue. This shohin - rack depicted a mountain which always presented a needle-like tree on the top of the table.
