On Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2026, Bonsai Plaza will be exceptionally open for an additional weekend during the azalea bloom.
During this period, many satsuki azaleas reveal their refined floral beauty. Not all azaleas bloom at the same time — and that is precisely what makes a visit special: you will experience the collection in a living, seasonal moment, with differences in colour, form, flowering stage and character.
Date/Time Saturday 30 May 2026, 08:00–16:00 Sunday 31 May 2026, 11:00–16:00
Location Omloop 4, Boskoop, The Netherlands
There is no special programme during this weekend. You are welcome to take your time, enjoy the flowering satsuki azaleas and explore the collection. Naturally, we will be pleased to assist you personally with any questions about trees, care, selection or further development.
Admission is free; registration is not required.
You are warmly welcome.

On Saturday 7 November we are honoured to welcome Mario Komsta as our guest. Trained in Japan and widely respected, Mario is appreciated for refined styling, clear decision-making and precise technique.
Since autumn 2024, Bonsai Plaza has presented his work in our nursery. He continues to develop selected trees from the Bonsai Plaza collection — with attention to character, structure and long-term refinement.

What to expect:
Saturday — Mario Komsta at work Mario is an internationally renowned bonsai artist and teacher, known for his clear approach to structure and refinement. He will be working throughout the day on selected trees from the Bonsai Plaza collection: wiring, refinement and detail work, with a sharp eye for structure, nebari and long-term development. You are welcome to watch up close — and to ask him any bonsai-related questions.
Sunday — Instructive nursery walks with Danny Use (Bonsai Center Ginkgo) Danny is a pioneer in the European bonsai world, with more than forty years of professional bonsai experience. As the driving force behind Bonsai Center Ginkgo, he is known for his keen eye for quality material and his practical, down-to-earth advice. New arrivals from Japan and Korea (over 5,000 new bonsai): an exceptionally broad and deep selection in the familiar Bonsai Plaza line — from refined material to trees with clear future potential, in a range of sizes and styles. At this time of year, the new season’s arrivals can be viewed all at once, so you can take your time to look, compare and assess nebari, movement, branching, health and development direction.
New hand-crafted pots by Japanese ceramicists: a wide arrival with great variety in shape, size and presence — from subtle, quiet glazes to pots with characterful patina. Ideal for creating a pairing that doesn’t just “fit”, but truly supports the story of the tree.
